Page Three Girls
Page 3 girls !
No, it doesn’t bother me at all.
I used to know a Page Three girl. We were both well in to our forties when we knew each other. Her name was Sally and she was an intelligent, thinking person, a dental nurse, and a wife and mother. In her youth she had posed many times for Page Three and similar. She was not ashamed of it and had no reason to be.
Her attitude was “if men are so daft they want to gawp at my boobs – fine!”
She got paid for it, she needed the money, and it was a quick and easy – and fun – source of income.
People are silly. Just go to the beach in France and you will see topless females everywhere. And why not ? There are bits of men’s bodies that are sometimes very obvious … and do we tell them to put on an apron ? Of course not.
None of the Page Three women are forced to pose. It is a choice. I don’t like or dislike it, and if I am going to spend energy and time campaigning about something I feel strongly about, I sincerely hope I latch on to something rather more important than Page Three !
