Macmillan Nurses – cancer care.

A huge thank you to everybody who donated and to everybody who bid at the auction – and, of course, to everybody who attended the function!  We raised almost £1300 at our coffee morning, held here in our property in France.  As the French had never heard of Macmillan nurses we, as une politesse, contributed to La Ligue contre le Cancer too.  The money we raised will go towards funding the specialist training of these valuable nurses who are provided free of charge to all cancer sufferers in the UK, financed either by Macmillan or by the NHS.  Along with Marie Curie nurses, who tend to deal more with the final stages of terminal cancer, they provide an invaluable service that cannot be sufficiently praised.
