French youths smoking cigarettes (well, I suppose that’s what they were).

Les Clops.

I suppose it is spelt like that ?  It might be les cloppes. It is French slang for cigarettes.  Fags, I suppose.  I did this little sketch in the car while we were at traffic lights.  A group of unwashed-looking youths sat on the steps of a war memorial, smoking for all life was worth. They were so serious about it.  Talking and puffing and gesticulating.  So serious.
